Goose down comforters are not the only popular type of goose down products. Pillows and beds are also extremely popular for many different reasons. The most popular reason is that like a goose down comforter, all other products are extremely comfortable, to a luxurious level. Goose down offers softness, lightweight, and breathable, all rolled into one extremely comfortable comforter. Even though they may be more expensive, they are worth the money.

So where does goose down come from? Well, as you may have guessed it comes directly from geese. Specifically, the substance is derived from the underside of the goose, where the fluff is both thick and soft. This works to keep the geese warm during the wintertime and insulates chicks and eggs to keep them warm and safe. What all this means is that nature created the perfect insulator in geese.

There are several different qualities and style when it comes to the down that is used in a goose down comforter. For example, the goose down comforter could have a mixture of goose down and feathers combined. This can do wonders for the comforter, such as making it firmer for the user. However, there is a downfall to using goose feathers and it comes in the form of poking your skin because sometimes goose feathers find their way out through the comforter which could lead to some aggravation.

Goose down works better than feathers do, because feathers have the tendency to squash easily and are generally heavier overall, whereas, goose down does not squash and is much more lightweight. Furthermore, a mixture of feathers and goose down or simply feathers will not retain the fluffiness as well as goose down will.

When it comes to insulation qualities, Siberian goose down is at the top of the game and is most sought after. For luxury, Eiderdown is used. This type of down comes from the area of Iceland from Eider ducks, well known for its luxurious properties. The Hungarian goose is another popular choice of goose down. Many people opt for goose down comforters than any other type of comforters available. They love goose down because it is soft, luxurious, comfortable, and warm no matter what season you are currently going through.

Winter, spring, summer, or fall, goose down comforters will do the trick to keep you comfortable all night long. When nothing but softness, coziness, and pure luxury will do, your choice should be a goose down comforter.
